As a military wife, I understood what I got myself into when I married my husband when it came to deployments, moving all around the world, and just being military minded. If I didn't know exactly what I got myself into, then I learned through normal everyday life here in the military. However my children didn't know what they signed up for, in fact they were just born into this, so Brody on a daily basis tells me how much he misses his dad. Aidan on the other hand is being a little more stoic and tells me which holidays are going to pass before his dad gets home, but it is hard as a mother to see the heartache these kiddos go through!
Brody took a picture of Joe talking to us via Skype- (Joe is wearing sunglasses because he is outside!)-- and Brody taking a picture of us talking to him! :) Gotta love the conveniences of the internet!

Birthdays are nature's way of telling us to eat more cake...
For Phebe and Amanda's birthday, we went out to eat at Club 21 in Kaiserslautern. I have to say I was slightly disappointed in the menu changes, the Rainbow drink I so happen to love was no longer on the menu and neither was the Lobster Bisque soup which is fabulous and also not on the damn menu!!!! :( I did convince them to make me a rainbow, but never got any lobster bisque soup!!! But it was a great time and I love hanging out with these wonderful people I call my friends!! ;)

Wearing gloves in a bank???
So a week or two ago, this guy comes into the bank wearing gloves. I would understand this if it were winter, which it is NOT, but he doesn't even take them off. I mean, he filled out his deposit slip and everything with gloves on. How are you gonna walk into a bank with gloves on in the middle of summer and not expect people to freak out? I never looked past his gloves and he did his withdrawal or whatever he did (I can't remember because all I thought of was--"holy hell, I am getting robbed"). But then he just walked out of the bank like it was no big deal...
Later the same guy comes in-- without gloves-- and my co-worker asks him where his gloves are? He simply replies that his car had been overheating and he kept having to fix it. Which is a reasonable explanation, but seriously--- gloves on in a bank????

A blog virgin?
In my attempts to avoid homework, I have decided to start up a blog! :) Because my literature and human resource management homework just seem not as fun! ;) So here goes....
Today the boys and I got out of the house and went to the park in our village. It is such a nice area--- with zip lines, trampoline, and a slide. There is also a lake (well it is very small) so it might be a pond, I don't really know and there are walking trails. And of course, there is a fabulous restaurant called Zum Kahnhaus--- it has very good rahm schnitzel!!! You know the key to my heart is of course food. :)
Joe is in training in El Paso, Texas & we miss him terribly. But we are trying to just make time go by fast... this is after all the life of the military family. Being TDY is of course the worst part of the military, but there are many perks that come along with this lifestyle as well. Such as living in Germany of course and our wonderful friends that we have picked up along the way. :)
